KAAGA BOYS
HIGH SCHOOL-KB
"Destined for great academic excellence"

FROM THE DEPUTY PRINCIPAL’S DESK-ADMINISTRATION
I take this opportunity to welcome you to Kaaga Boys’ information and network with the public through technology. In our endeavour to realise the school vision, ‘’to bring up a holistic person for self and community service in a dynamic world”, we have developed a school culture that has seen our school grow in all dimensions of concern namely discipline, performance, infrastructure and enrollment. I am proud to be identified with the team that has brought about the positive change in my capacity as the Deputy Principal.
This is now my 2nd year as the Deputy Principal which is part of a total of 18 teaching years in a wide variety of schools in Meru County/Isiolo. I thank the entire Kaaga Boys fraternity for the support they have continued giving me which in effect has made my otherwise challenging work easier and enjoyable. I owe a lot to the principal, staff, parents and students who have been very co-operative. My principle and approach at work is being close and accessible to students at all times but never hesitate to administer deterrent punishment to wrong doers. To colleagues I believe in identifying and respecting talents to team up with for the benefit of the institution.

The basis of our improvement for the last couple of years from a mere grade of C minus to B-(minus) against many challenges has been improved discipline and rich tailor made programmes fully supported by all stakeholders. Our day starts at 4.30 a.m. with a morning prep that goes up to 6.00 a.m. when the students go for breakfast followed by cleaning duties up to 7.00 a.m. Except for Mondays and Fridays, when the school conducts assemblies, 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 a.m. is used for continuous assessment tests for Mathematics and Science subjects. These C.A.Ts have greatly contributed to the improvement of those subjects. Besides the normal lessons time the school has well organised co-curriculum activities whereby the students are fully exposed to discover and exercise their other talents. In games we cater for indoor ones for instance chess, scrabble, table tennis among others. For outdoor games our school competes favourably in football, volleyball, hockey, basketball, badminton, rugby and lawn tennis.
ICT integration in teaching and learning and inculcating a rich culture of reading.

The school supports freedom of worship by facilitating all faiths with rooms for worship. Time for spiritual service is usually from 8.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. for Catholics and Protestants on Sundays. S.D.A. students are permitted to go out for worship on Saturdays and Muslim students are permitted to go to the mosque every Friday from 12.30 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. On Wednesdays 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. all students go to different rooms in school depending on their faith for midweek spiritual nourishment. Guidance and Counselling sessions for all students is given on alternative Thursdays which alternate with clubs. These programmes are supported by the school administration and all teachers.

With a student population of 1050 the variety of programmes give adequate exposure to talent discovering activities that complement the academic curriculum and will no doubt maintain the steady upward trend of academic achievement as they enhance discipline.
